Trevor (@TrevorNoah) has hosted numerous television shows in his native country, including South Africa’s music, television and film awards, the South African Comedy Festival and two seasons of his own late night talk show. He had his U.S. television debut on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and has also appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman,” becoming the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on either late night show. He’s slated to do the Jimmy Kimmel show in January. His Showtime comedy special, “Trevor Noah: African American” premiered in 2013 and he’s slated to take over for John Stewart on The Daily Show this fall.

Trevor (www.trevornoah.com) presented his one man show “The Racist” at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe in a sold out run that became the buzz of audiences and journalists and the same year was the subject of David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film “You Laugh But It’s True” which tells the story of Trevor’s remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. He continues to tour all over the world and has performed in front of sold out crowds at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and the Sydney Opera House in Australia, among others. Trevor has been profiled in Rolling Stone, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal, and by CNN and NPR’s “Talk of the Nation.” He was nominated for “Personality of the Year” at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards and is currently featured on the cover of GQ South Africa.

The Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses

  • Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (map)

Celebrating 30 years of stirring virtual adventure and memorable soundtracks with live orchestral renditions directly approved by franchise producer Eiji Aonuma, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses brings the Zelda franchise to life with a 66-piece orchestra, 24-person choir, and a reimagined score that includes new movements from more recently released Zelda games such as Skyward Sword and the highly anticipated Breath of the Wild, while still paying homage to classic installments like Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past.

The five-movement multimedia symphony concert regales fans with Nintendo composer Koji Kondo’s original music, recalling moments of Link conquering dungeons, running through forests, and struggling to decide what color tunic to wear. Throughout the evening, a video collage syncs up with the adventurous tunes to spotlight exciting moments from the venerable franchise.

No matter where you are on your homeschooling journey, you will find whatever you need to inspire, enlighten, and encourage you through your next year of homeschooling.

Come and join us! Listen to inspiring speakers, make some new homeschool friends – maybe just spend time reconnecting with other old homeschooling friends. Give your homeschooling a new or fresh start with creative ideas, homeschool products, and services you and your children will enjoy!

  • Practical “How To” Sessions on many different subjects
  • “Getting Started” Workshops for those thinking about or new to homeschooling
  • Homeschooling Teens and Preparing for College
  • Dealing with Challenges: Encouraging Independent Learning, Large Families, Wiggly Kids, Avoiding Burn-out, Homeschooling the “Hard” Stuff
  • And much, much, more!

A few people have asked about the Homeschool Expo.  We are a Christian Family who has successfully homeschooled all of our seven children and have helped others through creating homeschooling events for over 25 years.   Our goal with the Expo events is to focus on education.  So often, we as homeschoolers are excited about raising and educating our children but don’t always know how to go about it well.

We long for more than just pep talks about how to have families that are moral, safe and God centered.  Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way saying that these things aren’t important.  But, as homeschool parents  we also need to know exactly how to get our kids through math and how not to waste money on disappointing materials!  There are so many things to do and so little time, HELP!  Sometimes it seems like we are the only ones homeschooling at home, while everyone else is sending their children to so many outside classes and hybrid schools.  These are all great too, a real sign of how far homeschooling has come.  But our Expo goal is to make homeschooling events where parents get all the actual tools, information and encouragement they need.  Not just a pep talk!  We personally have children who learn easily and children who struggle for everything they get.  We have children who are easy to get along with and children who can sometimes be a real pain.  We think education is great and for everyone, and a little bit of humor is important too!  We want to tell everyone that homeschool learning can be fun and exciting.

So, join us at the Homeschool Expo.  We think you’ll see right away how different and encouraging we are!

#IMOMSOHARD-Mom's Night Out Summer Break Tour

This summer, Jen and Kristin from #IMOMSOHARD are taking their show out of the playroom and onto the road. But this time, they’re bringing the kids. And a tour bus (you didn’t think they’d leave them with their husbands, did you?).

There’s no one making moms feel as uncomfortably normal as Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the hilarious oh-so-real women behind #IMomSoHard. With over 675,000 Facebook fans, and more than 55 million views of their web series, Jen and Kristin’s blend of honesty and humor offer the kinds of levity most of us only get from our therapist, proving that if we weren’t all laughing, we’d be crying, right? Right!? Sure to deliver the kind of straight talk you can only get from discussing body hair in the kids’ playroom while sipping mimosas, Kristin and Jen prove you can’t make this shi*t up.

It’s like an evening with two of your besties. But funnier. And probably with more drinking. Definitely more drinking
